Soft, fine and incredibly versatile, Sunday is Sandnes Garn’s much-loved 100% merino 4ply yarn. With 235 metres per 50g ball, it creates lightweight knitted fabric with beautiful stitch definition and can be used on its own, held double, or paired with Tynn Silk Mohair as a second strand. The extensive colour palette includes both classic Sandnes Garn shades and the popular PetiteKnit colour collection.

About Sandnes Garn Sunday

Sunday is the finest 100% merino yarn in the Sandnes Garn range and a brilliant all-round choice for lightweight wool garments.

Its fine 4ply construction works beautifully for sweaters, cardigans, baby and children’s knits, detailed colourwork and garments worn close to the body. Merino wool provides natural warmth while remaining breathable, making Sunday a versatile yarn across a wide range of projects.

Sunday is non-superwash, but importantly, that doesn’t mean it can’t be machine washed. Sandnes Garn recommends a gentle 30°C wool programme for this yarn.

One of Sunday’s strengths is just how many ways you can use it.

Knit one strand of Sunday for a fine, lightweight merino fabric, or hold two strands of Sunday together when you need a thicker gauge.

Sunday is also an excellent base yarn to combine with Tynn Silk Mohiar as a second strand. The merino provides the structure and stitch definition, while the mohair adds warmth, softness and its characteristic halo.

Sunday PetiteKnit Colours

The Sunday range includes a colour collection developed in collaboration with Danish knitwear designer PetiteKnit.

PetiteKnit colours use the same Sunday yarn base as the rest of the range, with the same 100% merino composition, meterage and knitting characteristics. This means you can freely choose and combine PetiteKnit shades with other Sunday colours for your project.
